Case Study: Custom Workshop

A closer look at a custom workshop for a product company’s marketing leaders.

Situation

A products company’s Marketing executive was holding the annual offsite for marketing leaders, and asked me to facilitate the morning – with an interesting and useful workshop topic for the 30 marketing leaders, and weave in the beginning of their visioning and planning process – that they would continue on their own later in the off-site.

Services Provided

I customized an interactive session on a current marketing topic that the marketing professionals would be intrigued with and able to use. We grounded our work in the concept “brain-sticky” marketing and the science of Fascination. There was an assessment and process for each person to uncover and understand their unique brand in order to use for their own careers, and to embed in their unique contribution to the marketing team. I also created a “heat map” that showed where the whole team plotted across all the various brands so they could see where they were strong, lacking and complimentary. We held a lively debrief to apply their findings.

Results

The session got great reviews as high-energy workshop and learning opportunity. The leader told me it exceeded her expectations and was an excellent kick-off to the offsite. They enjoyed the learning and then small group discussions, gaining a better sense of the types of qualities they have in their group – and each bring to the team. The creativity it opened up was a great foundation for the visioning session we held at the end of the morning.
